@Everyone - You can, but should you?

This new feature in Facebook groups allows you to tag all group members. Just because you can, should you?

Have you seen the new feature in your Facebook group? The feature where you can tag all members at once by simply typing @everyone? When you type that, all members receive a notification that they have been tagged in a post. Sounds tempting, doesn't it?

Before you get too excited, let's consider a few things:

1. Use it for a PURPOSE. Early feedback is showing group members are annoyed when they are tagged in posts that they feel are not relevant to them and - like crying wolf - will tune out.

2. This feature can only be used once a day. Use it wisely.

3. The best use of this feature is shown to be in the event of emergencies or announcements (e.g. time sensitive deadline or limited quantity announcements, shipping deadline information, breaking news).

On the plus side, it does "wake up" the activity in the group and bring some who have been dormant to come to see what is going on. Be aware it might prompt some to leave the group as they may realize your group is no longer of interest to them - AND THAT IS OKAY BECAUSE THAT MEANS THEY ARE NO LONGER YOUR IDEAL CLIENT.
